Home Counties Archaeology is a UK-based archaeological practice delivering fieldwork, consulting and heritage services for Housing development, renewable energy and infrastructure projects.

We support clients from initial planning requirements to discharge planning conditions with regards to heritage and archaeology through to on-site delivery and reporting, ensuring archaeological conditions are met efficiently and professionally.

Our Approach

We combine practical field expertise with clear project management and regulatory understanding. Every project is led by a senior practitioner, with specialist support engaged where required to match project scale and complexity.

Our team

Our dedicated team of in-house senior archaeological and heritage professionals and freelancers have delivered projects across a wide range of sectors including housing development, infrastructure, solar and wind farm energy renewable and research. Our Managing Director Martin Banikov has been a field archaeologist and senior heritage consultant and project manager for over 20 years. During this period Martins has worked for some of the leading archaeological companies across the UK. Martin is an accredited Member of the Chartered Institute for Archaeologists (MCIfA), Member of the British Museum and a qualified SSSTS Manager and First Aider.

Geographic Coverage

Based in the Home Counties, we deliver archaeological services across the UK, working with local planning authorities and national development and infrastructure frameworks.
